21世紀の新年を迎え、人生の目標を再設定している。

2001/01/01　「21世紀を迎え」

It’s just been 21st century and I am starting thinking what is my objective for this year. To be honest I was thinking since two days ago but I couldn’t get any conclusion due to no silence. However one primary target for me is to take some actions for new world. My meaning for new world means to change the platform, location and circumstance to put me into completely new challenge situation to expand my potentiality. During last year, I was just thinking and listening. But what precisely? There are some options.
1. To move into foreign company (U.S. venture company doing business on Telecom industry or software industry; Web technology). Maybe this is accompany with highest risk and I have to make my mind strong to get into this area because completely new culture, new people and new place. It’s going to be toughest way but if I can be beyond this, it’s going to be the best hurdle for me to expand my potentiality.
2. Move to E-crossing
If I go this way, I want to complete my business plan on either Telecom industry or WWW technology. The benefit of this way is to learn to do your own business. It’s like a simulation for new company start-up. There is not more risk than option 1 but my salary may be decreased.
3. Stay in this company and wait to go back to Japan
This is no risk but most negative way. Demerit of this solution is that I can’t expand my potentiality as I like to do.Also I have to do some more things for establishing my own logic for my business style subject to historical background and latest trend. However the most important things is to find out how I can contribute to society and nations. In the meantime I will find out what I’d like to do.
1. Analyze the trend of telecom industry
- Ultimate business model for network service provider. Focus onto profit center of internet service. Customer demand analysis (Trend & future direction)
2. Modeling my business idea
- Elder care business model. New Mobile business. New internet business. New gene business. Artificial intelligence business. Robot business
3. Establish my management style
- Statistical approach to make a decision. Personnel centric human resource management. Training program. Discussion based business rolling. Fair achievement evaluation (system). Listening customer
4. Learn technology
- Respecting to new idea anytime. Discussion based knowledge exchange. Customer satisfaction program
5. Key technology
- XML,Java (Mobile),ASP + Datacenter (Web speed-up technology: Cashe, Load-balancer, SSL accelerator, compression, etc ),IEEE802.11b (Wireless),FWA,IP-VPN (MPLS),IPv6,IP over DWDM, optical, Optical cross connect,Photonics network
6. Objective for personal things
- One by one (Don’t do one thing with another thing). Maintaining myself. Be honest for unknown things. (No pretending). Be modest for others and myself. “Think”&“ Action”.

This year shall be my turning point and it’s going to change my life dramatically. To make this year turning point of my life, I keep my eye opening anytime and listen to myself and society’s demand and “Think” & “MOVE”. I also need to see more people, great people and learn more thing and expand my sight more over. MBA at Stanford is the best place to meet these guys and learn more about business and secure useful connections.

『その当時を振り返り』

近い将来選択するだろう人生のオプションについてそれぞれのメリット、デメリット、リスクを整理している。直近の選択としては最終的には全く違う選択をするのだが、それも人生の面白いところ。日々いろいろ考えていると何かしらチャンスが転がってくるということだろう。

そして、この年が人生の転換点になるという確信を持っているが、図らずもそうなるのである。

さらに自分が身につけたい知識、能力、考えなければならないことを列記しているが、今読み返すとそれから十数年の間に身につけたか、引き続き興味を持っていることがよくわかる。やはり、文字にすることは大切なことだ。そんな思いから、今でも習慣として続けているミッションステートメントを書くことをこの年からはじめたようだ。
