31歳の誕生日。そのときの自分を形に残したいという思いを感じる日記。

2000/12/24　「31歳の誕生日に改めて考えること」

It’s my 31st years birthday today. I am feeling to start something so that I decide to write down something I am thinking currently.I am not so feeling well these days due to flu but I couldn’t take an off because my project was almost finished and in the most important period to be with.

Recently I am reading the stories of the greatest guys in Silicon valley, who started their own business and made a great success so far.

There are many learning points but there are some unchangeable points.
1. They are realizing they can’t know everything and do everything.
2. The success on the business is not only from their capability but also their luck.
3. They know there is a lot of uncontrollable and unpredictable thing.

Under this circumstance how they could handle their own business successfully? I found the reason. That’s because they always admit their mistakes and listen to others and take an action to correct it immediately without any doubt. The key driver for their success is preference. It’s very simple thing. They are doing that because they like to do that, like that technology, industry.

Also they are talking that there are two types of business man. One is entrepreneur and the other is CEO. There is a big difference for required faculty.Entrepreneur is required to have strong and attractive idea as well as the predictability for the future demand. In addition, they need to know how to collect the money to drive that young company.CEO is required to have some sort of respect from employee and capability to find the high performer to keep attract the employees, customers and society.In both case, I think there is one unchangeable and fundamental thing which is to control yourself to be modesty and to listen to the others anytime.Above is the more required skill to manage the people and the next one is to move the company forward, which is courage to make immediate decision.To be courage is led to control yourself because if you control yourself sufficiently, you can be courage enough for yourself and it’s quite easy for you to make immediate decision. However to control yourself is not enough under some circumstances. For instance, even if you are courage enough and can control yourself sufficiently, if you don’t know how to perform is and where to go, it’s stupidly useless. However nobody can tells you about it. Only the way to get it is to do it and made a mistake and correct yourself, which is try and error. This can tells you what is your weak point and what you need to learn. Maybe to learn world history can help you to learn this more faster.

Summary :
1. Modesty = listen to the others ( learn what you need to know and realize you can’t do everything.)
2. Courage = to make immediate decision
3. Keep control yourself

I’d like to summarize what I have learned and studied so far and create my own company and business model for;
1. Management of employee
2. Market trend for High tech industry

Also I’d like to know what I really want to do. This is the most important thing for my future. What one likes, one will do well.

『その当時を振り返り』

シリコンバレーで大成功した事業家について書かれた本を読み、新しいものを生み出していく人の考え方について自分なりにサマライズしている。

その本のタイトルはおそらく、「世界を動かす巨人たち」だろう。

「世の中で起きることをすべて予測することはできない、コントロールすることはできない。だから、謙虚になり人に学ぶことが大切だ。」

「挑戦を繰り返し、失敗から学ぶことトライ＆エラーの姿勢こそが未踏の世界を切り開く唯一の方法であること」

「決断のためには勇気を持つ事と自分をコントロールすることが必要であること」。

　今でも全く違和感がないどころが完全に同意である。どうやら、この考え方は自分の中に完全に刷り込まれているようだ。
