2000/10/30　「フロリダでの研修」

I am now at Florida to take Lucent training with my colleagues, Jay and Ned who are engineers of Network Department.

The reason why I am now feeling to add more word on this diary in this timing is because I got an idea about the typical culture difference and the reason why United States is now leading and advancing the world. I am sure there is the reason.

I assume it’s coming from the behaviors difference between American and European or other nations. There are a lot of student coming from all over the world at this training center now, I guess but after the training, it’s finished around 4:00PM, my colleagues start drinking beers or other alcoholic beverages and Japanese just stay at hotel room and doing something until dinner time has come. They may be reading some book or watching TV but inside hotel room, even if there are a lot of chance to talk to other nations and collect a lot of information for business and expand your sight.

Now American. What are they doing? That’s really surprise for me and impressive at the same time. After the training, they immediately start jogging and take a shower. And then go down and start speak to their colleagues with appropriate amount of drink. It’s easy to guess which nation will be able to advance the world and lead the world. It’s American. They are always invest to themselves to keep them good conditions and expand their sight.


I reconfirmed that British way of life is not my way. No, I shall say I hate it, even if just watching it. They are just wasting their time and breaking their brain gradually but certainly by alcoholic. I read some topics on Newsweek magazine and it said that British is now earning higher salary they have ever had because of growth of IT market. However they are spending their money at pub every night. Sometime they are spending 500 Pounds per night. Can you believe this? They are crazy. I don’t think Jay and Ned are completely same as British I said above but similar.

I also reconfirmed to go to U.S. in next year definitely.

『その当時を振り返り』

非常にせまい範囲の人間だけを見て、人種の違いを語っている非常に危険な内容だと思うが、それも社会人5年目の20代の若者の視点としてそのまま掲載。

明らかにアメリカへの過剰な期待を持っているが、新しい事業がどんどん生まれ、それが大きく成長し、経済が拡大するということは、それだけ魅力的なのであろう。

2000年といえばAmazonやGoogleが大きく成長しだし、前年にはアマゾンのジェフ・ペゾスがタイム誌の「今年の人」に選ばれている。

また、アメリカ人を褒め、イギリス人を嫌っているが、その1年後には真逆のことを思っているだが。。。
